MEDICIS-PROMED (EU-funded Horizon 2020 program). MEDICIS produced radioisotope beams for medicine, is an Innovative Training Network (ITN) under the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions within H2020. This project started on 1 April 2015 for duration of 4 years. For its research posts, the project is recruiting 15 Early Stage Researchers (ESRs). 11 positions are funded by the European Union, 3 of which will be recruited by CERN, with a further 8 at the MEDICIS-PROMED partners in Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal and the United Kingdom, and 4 funded by the Swiss Confederation for recruitment by Swiss partners. Work packages concerned: WP3, D3.CH2: New robot-assisted instruments and delivery methods for brachytherapy

Eligibility:

  • Duration of employment contract: 36 months to obtain PhD degree with one of the European universities.
  • Applicant must have a university degree
  • Applicant must have a maximum of 4 years of full-time research experience, including any period of research training, after receiving the degree which formally allowed them to embark on a doctorate in the country in which the degree/diploma was obtained or in the host country.
  • Applicant cannot be PhD holders at the start of their employment contract.
  • For the HUG position, the respective applicant must not have worked for more than 1 year in Switzerland within the last three years.
  • Proficiency in English is must; training in other languages can be provided through the ITN’s training budget.
  • Applicant must hold a master degree in biology/ biophysics/ bioengineering or equivalent
  • Applicant ideally must be skilled in developments at the interface between medical imaging, instrumentation, programming and/or robotic.
  • Applicant having experience in the life sciences with a strong motivation to be involved in the development of biomedical applications will be advantageous.
  • Applicant with experience in nuclear medicine would be favoured.
