Molecular Physics: PhD Studentship, University of Sussex 1096 views

Ion Trap Cavity-QED and Molecular Physics Group in the Department of Physics & Astronomy has 3.5 year PhD position at the University of Sussex.

The project is part of an interdisciplinary alliance between the ITCM research group at Sussex and the research of Prof Tim Softley (Uni. of Birmingham) to study cold reactive collisions between neutral atomic and molecular redials and trapped molecular ions. The project at Sussex will aim on the development of new techniques to state selectively create the molecular ions and to measure the product ion’s state distribution. This includes the high resolution spectroscopy on seeded molecular beams, REMPI and REMPD spectroscopy on trapped molecular ions and the implementation of new state cooling schemes for molecular ions.
