Max Planck Institute (MPI) of Biochemistry and the research group Neuroinflammation and mucosal immunology invites application for a PhD student position in immunology. The position is funded by European Research Council (ERC) starting grant.
About the project:
- The group is interested in understanding how gut microbes control the activation of innate and adaptive immune cells during autoimmunity.
- High throughput metagenomics sequencing and genetically modified mouse models to identify novel mechanisms of host-microbe interactions are used.
Requirements:
- Applicant must be talented, highly motivated and hardworking with a strong background in immunology and molecular biology.
- Applicants with previous work experience in transgenic mouse models, flow cytometry and cellular immunological assays will have an advantage.
Duration: fixed term; 3 years; possibility of an extension
