The Max Planck Institute (MPI) for Chemical Energy Conversion and the department “Molecular Theory and Spectroscopy” invites applications for a Post-doc (f/m) with a PhD degree in Theoretical Chemistry.

- Selected candidate will have the opportunity to carry out pioneering research in theoretical method development and computational chemistry, both individually and collaboratively, working in the stimulating environment of a highly active and internationally renowned theoretical chemistry department of the Max Planck Society.
- The successful candidate will be jointly supervised by Dr. Pantazis and Prof. Neese.
Starting date: The position is available immediately, preferably no later than July 2017.
Duration: initially for 12 months; may be extended
Qualification requirements:
- Applicant must hold PhD degree in theoretical chemistry or a related discipline.
- Applicant must have familiarity with the basic mathematical formulation and physical background of wave function based quantum chemical methods as well as implicit solvation models
- Applicant must possess experience with the implementation of complex computational algorithms.
- Applicants having knowledge of C++ would be advantageous but not mandatory.
