The Max Planck Institute for Nuclear Physics is inviting applications for a PhD position at the division of quantum dynamics and control in “Photon absorption and emission processes in the continuum“.
About the Project:
- The scientific aim of this project is to gain a better understanding of continuum-electron wave packets in the presence of an external field applying a modified RABBITT (Reconstruction of Attosecond Bursts By interference of Two-photon Transition) method.
- The main attention is focused on continuum dynamics.
Requirements:
- Applicant must be highly motivated and an enthusiastic researcher.
- Applicant must hold MSc degree in Physics or Chemistry or equivalent, with excellent experimental skills.
- Knowledge in the following fields is beneficial: High-order harmonic generation, fiber laser systems, photoelectron spectroscopy, high vacuum techniques
- Applicant must have strong analytical skills and interest in the interpretation of multi-dimensional data
- Applicant must have a good team spirit
Duration: 3 years
