The Max Planck Institute (MPI) of Molecular Physiology invites applications for the Postdoc Position in Microbiology, Biochemistry. The position is available immediately in the Department of Structural Biochemistry (Director: Stefan Raunser). The successful scholar will combine microbiology with electron microscopy to determine the entry of bacterial toxin complexes into host cells and host-pathogen interactions in general.
Duration: initially limited to 3 years
Requirements:
- Applicant must hold PhD degree in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry Or Toxicology
- Applicant must have sufficient specialist knowledge in toxinology, in particular biochemical characterization of bacterial toxins including cell culture and animal manipulation.
- Applicants with knowledge in bioinformatics experience or relevant background in cryo-EM will have an advantage.
- Applicant must possess strong written and oral communication skills in English and strong computational skills are required.
