MPI of Molecular Physiology: Postdoc Position; Microbiology, Biochemistry 1692 views

The Max Planck Institute (MPI) of Molecular Physiology invites applications for the Postdoc Position in Microbiology, Biochemistry. The position is available immediately in the Department of Structural Biochemistry (Director: Stefan Raunser). The successful scholar will combine microbiology with electron microscopy to determine the entry of bacterial toxin complexes into host cells and host-pathogen interactions in general.

Duration: initially limited to 3 years

Requirements:

  • Applicant must hold PhD degree in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry Or Toxicology
  • Applicant must have sufficient specialist knowledge in toxinology, in particular biochemical characterization of bacterial toxins including cell culture and animal manipulation.
  • Applicants with knowledge in bioinformatics experience or relevant background in cryo-EM will have an advantage.
  • Applicant must possess strong written and oral communication skills in English and strong computational skills are required.
