Max Planck Institute for Ornithology invites applications for two PhD students to join an exciting new research group studying the ecology and evolution of animal culture under the supervision of Dr. Lucy Aplin
Duration: 3.5 years
Value: fully funded
Starting date: January 2018; flexible start date is possible, if needed.
Projects available for 2 positions are:
- Laboratory Experiments of Cultural Evolution
- Cultural Ecology in Urban Parrots
Requirements:
- Applicant must hold a Master’s Degree or 1st Class Honours Degree in Zoology, Ecology, or related subjects.
- Applicant can be of any nationality.
- Applicants with a background in computer science, physics, or engineering but who have demonstrated an interest in biology, are also encouraged to apply.
- Applicant must have experience of independent research.
- Applicant must possess proficiency in English (both written and spoken). German language skills are not required.
