One PhD Research Fellowship and One Postdoc Research Fellowship in Multilingualism and Globalization are available at the Center for Multilingualism in Society across the Lifespan (MultiLing) at the Department of Linguistics and Scandinavian Studies, UiO. The fellowships are backed by the University of Oslo’s investment in developing world-leading research communities and are part of one of new research project- Multilingualism and globalization: Perspectives from Norway.
Applicants (for each position) are expected to present an independent research project proposal that addresses an issue of relevance for the research project “Multilingualism and globalization: Perspectives from Norway”.
Duration:
- The positions are available for 3 years beginning November 2016.
- For the PhD position, the fellowship period may be reduced if the PhD candidate has previously been employed in a research fellowship position.
Qualifications and Personal Skills
- For PhD position: applicant must hold MA degree or equivalent in Linguistics, Communication, Anthropology, or some other relevant discipline.
- For Postdoc position: applicant must hold Doctoral degree or equivalent in Linguistics, Communication, Anthropology or relevant subjects.
- PhD dissertation must have been submitted for evaluation before the application deadline.
- PhD and Postdoc positions require good acquaintance of methodology for the study of spoken & written interaction
- Applicant must have capability to carry out fieldwork involving relevant methods of data collection and analysis.
- Applicants must have brilliant language skills in English (written and spoken).
Fellowship value:
- Doctoral position: salary level 50-56 (NOK 430 500-475 400, depending on level of expertise)
- Postdoc position: salary level 57-65 (NOK 483 700-560 700, depending on level of expertise)
