Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

Supervisor: Dr. Senjuti Sinharoy, Scientist, NIPGR

The position is available in the scheme of “Short-Term Research Fellowship” programme.

Duration: 3 years; on temporary basis

Qualification:

  • Applicant must hold MSc. in Life Sciences with at least 55% marks and with good academic record.
  • Applicant having experience of working with Plant Molecular Biology, and Plant Biochemistry will have an advantage.
  • Applicants with experience with Plant-microbe interaction will be preferred.

Senior Research Fellow (SRF) and Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

Supervisor: Dr. Aashish Ranjan, Scientist, NIPGR

Project 1: DBT-IYBA Award-2015 project entitled “Genetic Understanding and manipulation of sucrose transport to increase the rice yield”.

Number of posts: 01 post of SRF

Value: as per project sanctions & DBT/DST norms.

Qualifications:

  • Applicant must hold M.Sc./M.Tech. degree or equivalent (with minimum of 60% marks) in Life Sciences/Biotechnology/Bioinformatics or any other related field.
  • Applicant must have at least two years post M.Sc./M.Tech research experience
  • Applicants having research experience in the area of plant molecular biology/genomics/next generation sequencing data analysis will be given preference.
  • Applicant must possess strong computer skills (linux, perl).

Project 2: DST SERB-ECRA project entitled “Comprehensive characterization of PIF-family of transcription factors for abiotic stress signaling in crop plants”.

Number of posts: 01 post of JRF

Qualifications:

  • Applicant must hold M.Sc./M.Tech. degree or equivalent (with minimum of 60% marks) in Life Sciences/Biotechnology/Bioinformatics or any other related field.
