NTNU: PhD Positions, Faculty of Humanities: The Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) announces PhD Positions at the Faculty of Humanities.

Duration: The employment will be for a period of three (03) years without required duties or up to four (04) years with 25 per cent set aside for such duties, depending on the Department’s needs.

Program Overview:

  1. The successful applicants must complete their PhD studies within the period of employment.
  2. The applicants must document high academic potential through the research proposal. The research proposal is a vital part of evaluating the applicants. It is important that the project is feasible within the nominal length of study, which is three years full time, with ½ year set aside for coursework.
  3. The applicant must detail the project’s affiliation to existing research groups at the Faculty of Humanities, NTNU.

The candidates must also contain the name of the intended main supervisor. The main supervisor must be employed at one of the Faculty’s departments and fulfill the requirements for supervising at the doctoral level.

Research Areas:

The Faculty of Humanities hosts five (05) PhD-programs:

  1. Interdisciplinary Studies of Culture,
  2. Humanities and the Arts,
  3. Language and Linguistics,
  4. Historical and Cultural Studies and Audiovisual Media (joint degree with Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences).

Requirements for the Application:

  1. Applicants must have completed at least five (05) years of higher education including a master’s degree (or equivalent degree).
  2. To be admitted to a PhD-program
  3. Have a strong academic record
