Ph.D. Research: Physics or Nanoscience University of Bergen (UiB) – Ph.D. Research Fellow in Energy Transition/Nanophysics, Department of Physics and Technology at the University of Bergen (UiB). The position is for a fixed-term period of 4 years.

Project Details:

The goal of this project is to experimentally realize our theoretical work for enhancing solar cell efficiencies. The main tasks focus on developing methods for controlled fabricating and depositing nanomaterials. The characterization of nanomaterials will be an integral part. It is expected that theoretical simulation work will also be an important part of the project.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  1. Master’s degree or equivalent education in physics or nanoscience.
  2. Documented experience with laboratory work is a requirement and must be a part of the master’s thesis work.
  3. The candidate must have working experience with a minimum of one of the three following methods; fabrication of nanoparticles, deposition of nanoparticles, theoretical simulations of nanoplasmonic systems.
  4. Advantage if the applicant has experience with high-vacuum instrumentation.
  5. Advantage if the applicant has a background in chemistry.
  6. Applicants must be proficient in both written and oral English.

Duration: Ph.D. Research Fellow is for four years, of which 25 percent of the time each year comprises required duties associated with research, teaching and dissemination of results.
