PhD Fellow: DNA Repair and Genome Stability 787 views

PhD fellow in DNA repair and genome stability at the Department of Biology, Faculty of Science at the University of Copenhagen. The department is offering a PhD scholarship in DNA repair and genome stabiliy.

Overview

Genome integrity is critically dependent on DNA repair mechanisms of the cell, because the genetic material of the cell is constantly damaged by physical and chemical insults. If DNA lesions are not repaired properly in a timely fashion, they can lead to mutations, which is the underlying cause of both cancer, cellular ageing, and a number of developmental disorders. The aim of the PhD project is to study the role of the ZGRF1 helicase in DNA repair including its regulation by protein post-translational modifications (PTMs), cellular localization, protein-protein interactions and unique DNA structures that are recognized by the helicase.
