The Department of Biology, Faculty of Science at University of Copenhagen has an open PhD fellow position in Protein Chemistry/Enzymology from February 1st, 2020 at the Section for Biomolecular Sciences.
About the position:
- The position is within the project ‘GlycEDIT – High Value O-glycopeptides Using Enzyme Designed Transglycosidases’ funded by The Independent Research Fund Denmark.
- The project focus is on developing enzymes for preparing peptide synthesis precursors with complex O-glycosylations for use in synthesis of O-glycosylated peptides and peptide arrays.
- The successful applicant will be part of a unique, multidisciplinary scientific environment at the Linderstrøm-Lang Centre for Protein Science in a research group that studies enzyme function and protein-protein interaction by applying advanced enzymology, enzyme- and protein design, protein chemistry, physical chemistry, molecular biology and bacterial genetics.
- Principal supervisor is Assoc. Prof, Martin Willemoës, Department of Biology
Duration: 3 year period
Requirements:
- Applicant should hold M.Sc. degree in Biochemistry or a related field with good results and good English skills.
- Any previous publications and relevant work experience would be an asset.
