Overview
The supervisor, Thomas Hamelryck, has a joint position at the Departments of Computer Science (DIKU) and Biology (BIO). The selected candidate will work multidisciplinary research environment spanning two departments.

Project description
The project entails using cutting-edge machine learning methods, including probabilistic programming, to the problem of protein structure prediction.
The position is available for a 3-year period and your key tasks as a PhD student at SCIENCE are:
- To manage and carry through your research project
- Attend PhD courses
- Write scientific articles and your PhD thesis
- Teach and disseminate your research
- To stay at an external research institution for a few months, preferably abroad
- Work for the department
Position requirements
- An MSc degree in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Physics or Statistics with good results and good English skills.
- The candidate should have relevant training and experience in machine learning and/or statistics.
- As criteria for the assessment of your qualifications emphasis will also be laid on previous publications (if any) and relevant work experience.
Fellowship: The starting salary is currently at a minimum DKK 317.459 including annual supplement (+ pension up to DKK 43.852).
