Max Planck Institute for Terrestrial Microbiology invites applications for a PhD fellowship. The institute offers unique opportunity for a self-driven individual that wish to develop an interdisciplinary and innovative research project in the field of theoretical systems microbiology with a topical focus on cellular information processing, cellular communication networks, cell differentiation or complex microbial behaviors.
Requirements:
- Applicant must hold Master-level education in the quantitative sciences (either from studying physics, math or computer science or from a biology-oriented program with a quantitative component e.g. systems biology, bioinformatics, biotechnology etc).
- Candidates keen to study biological systems and become a versatile modeller and/or data analysists are welcome to apply

- The recipient will be trained in the framework of the graduate research training group on Quantitative Modeling in the Biosciences at the BIOQUANT Center of the University of Heidelberg
