PhD in Applied Physics at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam: Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam is home to more than 23,000 students The Atomic, Molecular and Laser Physics group at LaserLaB VU invites online applications from candidates interested in quantum physics and advanced experimental tools to manipulate quantum systems, such as single atoms and molecules for filling up the PhD Position in Atomic, Molecular And Optical Physics.

About position: This position will work to extend and upgrade existing HD+ laser spectroscopy experiment, to enable extremely precise measurements in our search for possible ‘new physics’ beyond the Standard Model.

Position: Ph.D

Location: AMSTERDAM.

Salary: €2,325 (PhD) per month during the first year and increases to €2,972 (PhD) per month during the fourth year.

Educational qualifications: Interested candidates should have MSc degree in Physics or Applied Physics, preferably specializing in atomic, molecular, and/or optical physics with the ability to see beyond boundaries, and develop their skills. Candidates must have knowledge of and experience with numerical simulation tools and software development, hands-on experience in optics, electronics, lasers, vacuum systems, and system automation.
