PhD in Microbiome and Depression at University of Amsterdam (UvA): Faculty of Science-The Swammerdam Institute for Life Sciences, University of Amsterdam invites applications from highly motivated candidates for filling up the PhD candidate Microbiome and Depression in Urban Mental Health. The Centre for Urban Mental Health research priority area has approved a PhD project at the University of Amsterdam between the faculty of Medicine (department of Psychiatry) and the Science faculty (Swammerdam Institute of Life Science).

About the project: This is interdisciplinary project by nature and selected candidates will work together with experts from various fields including methodology, psychology, psychiatry, biomedical and neurobiological science.

Position: PhD Position

Fellowship: €2,325 in the first year to €2,972 in the final year.

Location: Amsterdam

Duration: 4 years.

Educational qualifications: Interested and eligible candidates must have master degree in psychology (clinical, brain and cognition), biomedical science, medicine having Special interest in the microbiome with strong background to neurobiological research, system biology and especially the microbiome, and proficiency in statistics and programming in at least R.
