PhD in Plasma Physics at KTH Royal Institute of Technology: KTH Royal Institute of Technology is Sweden’s largest technical research and learning institution and home to students, researchers and faculty from around the world. KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm invited online applications from eligible candidate for filling up the position of PhD in Fusion Plasma Physics available within the research group at FPP of KTH actively participates in the European fusion programme to construct and operate a power generating system supervised by: Prof. Marek Rubel, Dr. Per. Petersson, Assoc. Prof. Henric Bergsåker.

About the position: This research’s aim is to assess the change in material morphology and plasma parameters following the exposure of wall components in controlled fusion devices (e.g. JET) and in simulators of PWI. This project deals with plasma-facing components which undergo modification caused by particle fluxes and resulting heat loads.

No of Positions:1 position

Position: Doctoral

Salary: As per norms.

Duration: 1 year, and then the employment may be renewed for a max of 2 years at a time

Qualifications: Interested candidates must have MSc degree in Physics, Engineering Physics, Materials Science. Candidates with prior experience in ethnographic fieldwork: observations, video data, interviews & participant observation will be preferred.
