We are looking for PhD candidates in the field of inorganic, material and photochemistry. The PhD. candidate (Male/Female) should have a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in the mentioned fields.
Important requirements are to have a solid knowledge in
- the preparation of metal transition oxides and their characterization and
- the understanding of photochemical processes, especially photocatalytic and photo-Fenton based processes.
- The PhD. candidates are expected to start in September 2020 for a 4-year long program. Study of photocatalytic and photo-Fenton properties of Fe-based materials for environmental remediation
Iron is an essential element used in photo-Fenton processes for the production of inorganic radicals. The goal of this thesis is to design Fe-based oxides with photochemically versatile properties, i.e. photo-Fenton and photocatalysis, for potential applications in environmental remediation.
Preparation of semiconductor oxides based on V and study of their photo-induced properties for pollutant degradation
Vanadium is an element with versatile oxidation states. The goal of this thesis is to prepare semiconductor oxides based on vanadium in the form of powder and/or films and to study their photo-induced properties in innovative photochemical processes for pollutant degradation.
