3. The Julius Kruttschnitt Minerals Research Centre (JKMRC) is a world-renowned research and postgraduate education organisation, located at Indooroopilly in Brisbane, approximately 7 km from the main University of Queensland campus in St Lucia.
4. JKMRC was established in 1970, and now forms part of the UQ Sustainable Minerals Institute (SMI).
5. The W.H. Bryan Mining & Geology Research Centre (BRC) has a reputation for practical innovation and leadership in deep mine development and operation.
6. With a diverse range of mining and ‘geo’ expertise, BRC is focused on delivering industrial research solutions for active and future mines.
7. The BRC is actively working on the development of new and improved methods for ore extraction and, most importantly for future mining effectiveness, in enhancing total deposit knowledge and predictive understanding of ore bodies.

Eligibility Criteria

1. To be eligible to apply, you must also meet the PhDor the MPhil entry requirements depending on your preferred program. Applications will be judged on a competitive basis taking into account the applicant’s previous academic record, publication record, honours and awards, and employment history.
2. The applicant will demonstrate academic achievement in the field/s of mineral science or engineering and the potential for scholastic success.
3. A background or knowledge of mineral processing, mineral beneficiation, with a proven capability of carrying out practical research is highly desirable.
