PhD position: Bottom-up engineering of synthetic cells 1169 views

The Max Planck Institute for Medical Research invites applications form highly motivated and enthusiastic individual for the vacant PhD position at the Department of Cellular Biophysics. The concerted effort in the lab is directed towards developing of highly innovative and creative approaches in bottom-up synthetic biology. The successful candidate will develop novel approaches for bottom-up reconstitution of dynamic actomyosin and microtubule cytoskeletal networks within the synthetic cells.

Requirements:
  • Applicant must hold Master’s or equivalent degree in Biophysics, Biochemistry, Molecular Cell Biology, Chemistry, or related fields.
  • An experimental background in biophysics and microfluidics is preferable.
  • Applicant must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Duration: limited to 03 years; with possible extension.
