General Introduction:
Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences (KU Leuven, Belgium) invites application for a Ph.D. position in broad area of topic urban climate modeling in Africa. University of Leuven, largest university in Belgium, has proficiency in both African high resolution climate modeling as well as on urban climate modeling and this plan they are working on both the topics.
This is inopportune as African cities are expanding very vigorously, driven by population growth and migration from rural to urbanized. But still the problem is climatic situation for African cities are still largely unknown. This research project aims to address this problem and will work for improved understanding of spatial variability of present day meteorological conditions in and around the cities by combining urban climate modeling with remote sensing.
