The Department of Economics, Zurich Center for Neuroeconomics (ZNE) at University of Zurich is offering a PhD position in neuroeconomics in the research group of Prof. Alós-Ferrer (NOMIS Professorship for Decision and Neuroeconomic Theory).

About the project:
  • The objective of the project is to develop and test model architecture for economic decision making, integrating received and new insights from neuroscience, psychology, and behavioral economics.

Responsibilities:

  • The position is within the SNF Project “The Neuroeconomics of Conflict and Preference Strength in Decision Making.”
  • The goal of this interdisciplinary project is to develop and test model architecture for economic decision making, integrating received and new insights from neuroscience, psychology, and behavioral economics.
  • The successful candidate will participate in a series of studies using EEG and eye-tracking.

Requirements:

  • Applicant must hold Master’s degree completed by end of September 2019
  • Applicant must be willing to work in a highly interdisciplinary environment and must have high enthusiasm and motivation for doing research in the field of neuroeconomics.
  • Applicant must have proven experience with collecting and analyzing EEG data and working experience with statistical analysis of data (Stata, R, and/or Matlab)
  • Experience with computer programming (e.g., Python, Java, NBS-Presentation, E-Prime); conducting eye-tracking studies
  • Applicant must possess excellent communication and writing skills in the English language and good analytical skills (mathematics/statistics)

Starting date: October 1, 2019; funded for three years at standard SNSF rates
