The research group in the field of Management Information Systems at ETH Zurich is looking for a new PhD students starting in early, mid, or late 2020. The group is located at the Department of Management, Technology and Economics (MTEC).
About the position:
- The research is driven by the strong desire to conquer the grand challenges of our society, such as better disease management.
- For this purpose, the recent advances in artificial intelligence and statistical modeling in order to gain deep insights are being drawn.
- Different from a pure PhD in computer science or Mathematics, the work is more applied as advanced analytics will be used to the specific requirements of the health application.
Research topics (one to be chosen):
- Probabilistic modeling / MCMC
- Machine learning / deep learning / artificial intelligence
- Statistics / econometrics
Requirements:
- Candidate has a degree in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or Computer Science (or a related field).
- Fluency in the English language is highly recommended.
