PhD Position (75%) in Mathematics is available at “Applied Numerical Analysis” at the Centre for Mathematical Science of the Technical University of Munich Germany.
This research position (PhD Position) is situated within the project “Digital Representations of Data on Manifolds”, which is part of the DFG funded Collaborative Research Centre SFB/TRR109 “Discretization in Geometry and Dynamics”.
This research project will be conducted by Prof. Felix Krahmer at TUM in collaboration with Prof. Gitta Kutyniok at TU Berlin Germany.
We offer an interesting, varied and challenging position within a young, dynamics, international and interdisciplinary team located at the Garching Campus of the TU München and the opportunity to work in an active, interregional research project funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG).
The position is paid according to the Civil Service rates of the German States “TV-L”, E13. The contract will initially for to 2 years with the possibility for further extension, funding period of the project is from July 2016 to June 2020.

Master’s Degree (MSc) in Mathematics we expect:
The ability to work independently on a high scientific level, independence, flexibility and the ability to work in a team and good command of the English language (German language skills are an advantage!), previous experience and knowledge in at least two of the areas of mathematics mentioned above
