A PhD scholarship in structural biology is available at Department of Chemistry, DTU. The PhD student will be part of the EU-funded project “Protein-excipient Interactions and protein-protein interactions in formulations” (PIPPI).
Starting date: 1st of February 2017 or as soon as possible thereafter
About the project PIPPI:
PIPPI is an Innovative Training Network (ITN) concerning the challenges in formulation of protein-based drugs. The industrial partners involved in the project include: Novozymes A/S (DK), MedImmune Ltd. (UK), Wyatt Technology Europe GmbH (DE), Nanotemper Technologies GmbH (DE), F. Hoffmann – La Roche Ltd., DFM A/S, Bioneer A/S.
Qualifications:
- Applicants must hold MSc degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, pharmaceutical science, chemical engineering or an equivalent background that provides a strong set of analytical skills.
- Applicant with hands-on experience with protein purification, X-ray diffraction, X-ray solution scattering or light scattering would be advantageous.
- Applicant must have a strong interest in working in a cross-disciplinary environment and should have very good partnership skills.
- Applicant must possess strong communication skills and a strong academic record.
- Applicant must have fluency in communication skills (written and spoken) English.
- Applicant must have zeal towards scientific excellence, be ambitious and hard working.
Salary: according to standardized EU rules for ITN grants and the appointment terms are consistent with the current rules for PhD degree students.
