Doctoral and Post-Doc Positions For Personalized Medical ICT, For A 4-Year Term, University of Oulu

Postdoc: The department is seeking post-doctoral scientists to our InfoTech Oulu project on “Sensor Within: Harnessing Human Biology for Sensing Applications”.

PhD: Applications are invited for a full-time doctoral student position and a post-doc position for a maximum of four years in an Infotech research project headed by Professor Juha Röning in BISG, Faculty of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering.

Requirements for a PhD student

  1. Master’s degree or an equivalent degree preferably in computer engineering or degree containing knowledge of life science (e.g. molecular biology, gene technology or relevant).
  2. The candidate needs solid programming and mathematical skills.
  3. Degree must have been completed with good.
  4. Ability to pursue independent research and excellent writing and fluency in English is expected.

The doctoral position is intended for an Early Stage Researcher (ESR). The selected candidate will carry out his/her doctoral studies in the Information Technology and Electrical Engineering Doctoral Programme or Health and Biosciences Doctoral Program of the University of Oulu Graduate School (UniOGS).

Requirements for a Postdoc

  1. Doctoral degree preferably in biomedical engineering or computer engineering combined with solid programming and mathematical skills.
  2. Degree must have been completed with good grades by 1.9.2018 (or latest before the job contract starts).
  3. Ability to pursue independent research and excellent writing and fluency in English is expected.

  4. Other relevant information: The eligible applicants fitting best in the research profile expected for the position may be invited to an on-site or remote interview. All applicants will be notified when the selection process is completed.
