PhD/Postdoc position: Data Science / Resilience Engineering 1045 views

The Singapore-ETH Centre (SEC) in collaboration with the National Research Foundation (NRF), in collaboration with the National University of Singapore (NUS), the Nanyang Technological University (NTU), is undertaking a research programme on “Future Resilient Systems” and PhD and Postdoc positions are available for the same.

About the position:
  • The main aim of this position is a comprehensive data analysis of available Singapore data sets (such as from transport, mobility and social media) and the evaluation of their applicability to extract knowledge in order to support actors and decision-makers in making socio-technical as well as social systems stay actionable.
  • Tasks include: (1) a comprehensive review and analysis of utilized data sets in the research programme “Future Resilient Systems” sofar and (2) the evaluation of the applicability of these and other Singapore data sets for the particular future tasks of the programme.
  • This research will be specifically linked to the Cluster on “Distributed Cognition Enabled by Data Science” in the forthcoming FRS-II project.
  • The position will be a supervised by Prof. Dr. Martin Raubal

Requirements:

  • Candidate must have an academic degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Science, Engineering or related fields
  • Strong research interest in resilience and mobility
  • Candidate must have good communication skills in English (oral and writing),
  • Candidate must be team-oriented and willing to work in an international environment.
