PhD program IITB-Monash Research Academy: Applications for the December 2016 Intake are now open.

Payment of fees by PG Students for the Spring Semester 2015-2016

Fees:

Currently for spring semester the students pay fee of Rs 49,076 + Rs.16,000 for hostel, mess and transportation within IITB.

Scholarship

Students in the joint IITB-Monash PhD program will benefit from the following funding arrangements:

1. Rs 372,000 / annum scholarship for the first 2 years
2. Rs 420,000 / annum after first two years
3. A grant of up to A$25,850 / annum in Australia
4. A min. of one year in Australia working with your proposed Monash University co-supervisor (some projects might require the candidate to be in Australia for a longer period of time or make more than one trip),
5. Waiver of international student tuition fees at Monash University.

Core Research Projects

Research will be conducted in a team based approach. Research in will be truly multi-disciplinary which will allow discoveries to be made at the interface of multiple disciplines. Six potential key research themes that have been identified are:

1. Advanced Computational Engineering, Simulation and Manufacture
2. Infrastructure Engineering
3. Clean Energy
4. Water
5. Nanotechnology
6. Biotechnology and Stem Cell Research
7. Humanities and Social Sciences
