Institut Pasteur is inviting applications for PhD position having specialty in Chemistry and Biology. The project is “Development of new chemical actives targeting epigenetic regulation to reprogram host-pathogen interactions in infectious diseases”.
About the project:
- This is an interdisciplinary thesis project at the interface of chemistry and biology.
- The candidate will have as missions the synthesis and the modulation of chemical molecules targeting the epigenetic regulation and the realization of biochemical, biophysical and cellular tests to evaluate the biological activity of the molecules.
- The main activities related to the project are: a medicinal chemistry activity involving chemical synthesis, purification and chemical analysis; and a biology activity involving the establishment and use of enzymatic and cellular assays and molecular biology techniques for monitoring effects in cells.
- The thesis starts on October 1st, 2019 for a duration of 3 years
Requirements:
- The student must have knowledge in chemistry, biochemistry, molecular and cellular biology, and have an openness to interface and collaborative projects.
Applications:
- CV and cover letter should be sent to Dr. Paola B. Arimondo at paola.arimondo@cnrs.fr
