Doctoral students at the University of Latvia in the research field Of Chemistry / Inorganic chemistry at the level of First Stage Researcher (R1).

Overview: Open competition for the selection of PhD students and candidates within the framework of Project Applications Selection Second Round.

Goal: to renew UL academic staff in the study direction “Chemistry, chemical technology and biotechnology” by employing doctoral students and doctoral degree candidates at the University of Latvia.

Duration: from 4th quarter of 2018 to 3rd quarter of 2022, with minimum project participation set at 12 months.

Hours per week: 20

Requirements and selection criteria:

  1. doctoral students in the last year of studies at accredited doctoral study programs, as well as doctoral students, who are Latvian Nationals studying outside Latvia in accredited doctoral study programs and doctoral degree candidates;
  2. doctoral students, who have successfully obtained the number of credits required during the first two/three years of studies// doctoral candidates, who have successfully completed doctoral studies;
  3. participation in at least two international conferences with a presentation/ report;
  4. English language proficiency C1 level;
  5. at least one scientific article- publication;
  6. successful doctoral exam in English;
  7. positive reference provided by the thesis supervisor on the doctoral student/ candidate as a potential faculty;
