PhD Studentship at University of Southampton: University of Southampton, Zepler Institute for Photonics and Nanoelectronics invited application from eligible highly motivated scientists for the PhD Studentship for typically three years (full-time) at Highfield Campus for  the “ Fabrication of multimode on-chip waveguides for infrared and higher-harmonic generation”.

About the Project: The ability to control the multimode dynamics (the propagation and interaction of different modes) in optical fibres has emerged as a new target in the landscape of optical communications. It represents definitely one of the most promising solutions to the growing demand of data-traffic in optical networks. This project aims to open new frontiers in nanophotonics by extending the study of the multimode dynamics to on-chip optical waveguides.
