Platform Manager/Researcher: Biotechnology Centre of Oslo (BiO) 1118 views

The Biotechnology Centre of Oslo invites applications for the post of Platform Manager/Researcher. The position is permanent, full-time available at the Chemical Biology Platform. BiO is a Centre for molecular biology, biotechnology and bioinformatics within the University of Oslo (UiO), dedicated to research and post-graduate training in addition to operating a number of technology platforms.


  • highly motivated individual with an excellent track record, who appreciates working in an international and interactive environment
  • must have strong interest and understanding of chemical biology, high throughput screening or experience in robotics/automation in this field
  • experience in platform/ unit management is necessary, preferably from a similar field/ area
  • must have background in chemical biology and assay development and is interested in continuing to develop a technology platform for high throughput screening and chemical biology


  • Applicant must hold Doctorate in biotechnology or a related area like engineering, chemistry, biochemistry or biology.
  • Applicant must have management experience from similar activity
  • Applicant having experience in chemical biology assay development and screening will have advantage
  • Applicants with strong background and hands-on experience in robotic technology will be preferred
  • Applicant having experience with cell-based assays will have an advantage
  • Applicant must be trustworthy, well organized that has the flexibility needed for working in a service-oriented context.
  • Applicant must possess good communication skills in English (written and oral); Basic knowledge in Norwegian is preferred (written and oral).
  • Applicant must demonstrate ability to operate as a team player in a multi-disciplinary environment
