A postdoctoral fellowship from Sao Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) is available inside the project “Genes, Genomes & Transposable Elements contribution to plant-microbe interaction: a sugarcane study case.” Applications are invited from a candidate with innovative ideas to use bioinformatics tools to reveal candidate genes related to molecular mechanisms of the plant-microbe interactions.
About the project:
- The research activity of the successful applicant will be held within the Genomics Group of the Department of Genetics, at ESALQ-University of Sao Paulo.
- The research project involves computational strategies to combine ‘omics’ data and to dissect candidate genes associated with plant-pathogen interaction.
- This position is intended to a computational researcher.
- The successful candidate will collaborate mainly in data analysis.
- The project is funded by FAPESP.
Requirements:
- Applicant must hold a recently obtained PhD degree in Sciences in a topic related to Bioinformatics and Genomics with prior experience and published papers.
- Applicant with previous experience with sugarcane fungal-pathosystems would have an advantage.
- Applications are open to candidates from all nationalities.
Value:
- Post-Doctoral fellowship in the amount of R$ 7,174.80 monthly
- research contingency fund: 15% of the annual value of the fellowship
Duration:
- The fellowship is for 24 months
Applications:
- Interested candidates must send a message to Professor Claudia Barros Monteiro Vitorello via e-mail (cbmontei@usp.br) with CV attached a cover letter and a letter of recommendation.
