Post-doctoral Life Scientist at the Schrödinger K.K.

Duration: Maximum three (03) years (contract must be renewed every year)

Schrödinger K.K. a subsidiary of Schrödinger, the leading provider of state-of-the art scientific software and services for pharmaceutical and materials research. Department is seeking a post-doctoral scientist in the life sciences / drug discovery research area who can provide internal technical and scientific support for our sales and applications science team.

Type of Employment:

Group is seeking a strong team player who can cooperate with each of our existing sales and applications science team members well and move our projects forward. The candidate will also have the opportunity to publish non-confidential scientific results.

Duties:

Internal technical support for projects regarding our software, “Small Molecule Drug Discovery Suite”, “Biologics Suite” and “Discovery Informatics Suite” including:

1. Make case studies using our software
2. Make technical documents
3. Translate technical documents between English and Japanese
4. Develop scripts (e.g. Python, Perl, Java, SQL)
5. Scripts for automating workflows
6. Running test / validation calculations
7. Literature research and summarization of previously published articles related to current projects
8. Oral / poster presentations at conferences, exhibitions
9. Lecturer at seminar and workshop we organize
10. Write / submit papers to scientific journals: the opportunity to publish any significant scientific results that does not involve confidential information

Required Qualifications:

1. PhD in life sciences, medicinal chemistry, or related area
2. Computational chemistry and/or Bioinformatics / Life Sciences IT knowledge and skills
   Scripting skills preferred (e.g. Python, Perl, Java, SQL)
3. Must come to office in Tokyo everyday
4. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
5. Language: Native Japanese level
6. English skills: Business proficiency with e-mail, report writing, web meetings / tele conferences with US Headquarters
