DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

The Pennsylvania State University’s Department of Communication Arts and Sciences, in collaboration with the Quantitative Developmental Systems Group is inviting applications for a PostDoc Research Scholar position focusing on the development and application of innovative analytic methods for intensive longitudinal data (dyadic and physiological) in the study of dyadic communication.

Research Overlook

Successful applicants will work within an interdisciplinary team of investigators using a trove of time-series data to develop models and methods for study of dyadic processes involved in the provision and processing of supportive communication, including how those processes influence individuals’ physiological and psychological function and well-being.

Primary responsibilities include:

    1. Conducting data analyses
    2. Interfacing with investigators and potential collaborators
    3. Participating in interdisciplinary research groups
    4. Preparing grant proposals, conference presentations, and scientific publications.

Requirements

  1. Preference will be given to candidates who are interested in developing a research program in the general area of applied research methods for intensive longitudinal data.
  2. Excellent written and oral English communication skills are required.
  3. Background in any of the following areas will be considered a plus: communication, co-regulation, interpersonal relations, and observational and experimental design.
