The Department of Environmental Science at the Faculty of Science, Stockholm, Sweden invites online applications from eligible bright candidate for filling up the position of Postdoctoral Fellow financed by the European Research Council (ERC – Advanced Grant), an EU H2020 project, and by the Swedish Research Council (VR), focusing on Organic Geochemistry in the Siberian-Arctic Land-Sea System.

About the position: This project offers involvement in studies of both the contemporary carbon system as well as during earlier warming periods through studies of deep sediment cores and focused on to increase the knowledge of resources, transportation and degradation processes of permafrost-derived carbon in the East Siberian Arctic Ocean using biomarkers and isotopic tools; these processes are key aspects of the permafrost carbon-climate link.

Duration: 2 years

Qualification: Interested candidates must have PhD degree in the Environmental/Earth Sciences, Chemistry/Engineering having experience with handling of gas chromatography-mass spectrometry systems, biomarker extraction and analysis, isotopic techniques and field sampling. Candidates with background in organic geochemistry will be preferred.
