The School of Chemistry at University of Southampton invited applications for Research Fellow position in Inorganic Materials Chemistry to identify new high mobility p-type transparent conductors, working with Dr Geoff Hyett on an EPSRC funded project at the University of Southampton This position will be Full Time Fixed Term until 02/12/2022 funded by the UK’s Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC).

Project Name: “Layered copper oxychalcogenides for next generation p-type transparent conductors”

About the project: The project will discover new p-type transparent conductors using a design led synthetic strategy aided by computational modelling, in collaboration with the group of Prof David Scanlon at UCL.

Position: Research Fellow/Postdoc

Salary: £30,942 to £33,797 per annum

Duration: Full Time Fixed Term until 02/12/2022

Location for position: Highfield Campus

Educational qualifications: Interested and eligible candidates must have PhD Degree in Chemistry, Materials or Physics and knowledge of solid-state chemistry and synthesis. Candidates should be able to show evidence of their ability to organise research activity and to meet deadlines. They will be able to effectivity communicate in written and verbal form.
