Postdoc in Organismal Biology/Biomechanics: Staff Scientist or Postdoc position at the University of Chicago in the field of Organismal Biology/Biomechanics/Neurobiology (Biotechnology)

About the position: The Hale Lab is seeking to fill a Staff Scientist or a Postdoc position in the field of Neurobiology and Biomechanics.

Tasks Involved:

  1. The staff scientist/postdoc plans, executes, facilitates & promotes advanced technical/scientific research projects.
  2. Recognizes the need for innovation and develops advances in research concepts, methodologies and approaches.
  3. Designs, develops & tests new equipment, instruments, reagents, and/or experimental protocols for research (including hardware, software, statistical methods, etc.).
  4. Collaborates with other researchers as appropriate. Experience with electrophysiology and imaging preferred.
  5. Participates in the preparation and writing of grant applications and reports, and (co-) authors scientific research manuscripts.
  6. Should also supervise other research staff / students.
  7. Should present work at scientific meetings, & provide peer review of grant applications and also scientific manuscripts.

Qualifications: Ph.D. Required.
