Forschungszentrum Jülich at Peter Grünberg Institute – Electronic Materials (PGI-7) is inviting applications for a Postdoc/PhD student electrical engineering, physics. The work is embedded in the NEUROTEC project, in which research is being carried out at several institutes at RWTH Aachen and at Research Center Jülich on neuromorphic systems and their implementation.
Tasks and responsibilities:
- The selected candidate will develop measurement concepts for the characterization of memristive memory matrices.
- Implementation of simple learning algorithms in hardware and software. To do this, a unique measurement system that provides the simultaneous characterization of matrices and dedicated simulation software is used.
Requirements:
- Applicant must hold Master’s degree in Physics or Electrical Engineering with above-average academic performance
- Interest in experimental and multidisciplinary work in comprehensive teams
- Basic knowledge of component physics as well as of electrical measurement concepts and simulation tools are desired
- Good English knowledge
- High flexibility and great commitment
Duration:
- The postdoc position is limited until the end of 2021
- The doctoral position is designed for 3.5 years
