The Center for Astrochemical Studies at Max Planck Institute for Extraterrestrial Physics (MPE) invites applications for a Postdoctoral position in Astrochemistry of protoplanetary disk atmospheres. The center is led by Prof. Caselli.
About the project:
- The project focusses on Astrochemistry of protoplanetary discs atmospheres and their winds and is part of the DFG Research Unit FOR2634/1 “Planet Formation Witnesses and Probes: Transition Discs” lead by Prof. Ercolano at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University.
Duration: initially for 15 months; with the possibility of an extension
Requirements:
- Applicants must have a PhD in Physics, Astronomy or Astrophysics, or expect to obtain their PhD in the near future.
- Applicants should be familiar with astrochemistry codes, experience of protoplanetary disc modelling would be of advantage, but it is not strictly required.
- The funding will be available from December 2019, although a later starting date could be negotiated, but not later than March 2020.
Applications:
- Apply online and following documents should be submitted (in English, and in PDF form):
- CV
- List of publications
- A brief (1 page) description of research interests
- Two referees should be sent to Prof. Caselli (caselli@mpe.mpg.de) and Prof. Ercolano (ercolano@usm.lmu.de).
