Postdoc position in biochemistry France 1425 views

A 2 years postdoc position is available at the Institut de Génomique Fonctionnelle (UMR 5203 CNRS, U1191 INSERM, Montpellier University, France) in Granier Lab. This postdoc position is financed by the European research Council (ERC) with the beginning date from October 1, 2016. The project focus at studying the molecular and structural pharmacology of membrane proteins and signaling complexes and will focus on

  1. – analyzing the structural dynamic of 7 transmembrane receptors using biophysical and biochemical approaches.
  2. – developing and applying DNA-based nanostructures methods in collaboration with Gaetan Bellot, IGF to facilitate the electron microscopy analysis of receptor signaling complexes.

We are seeking for a candidate who has recently defended his/her thesis (maximum of 3 years after PhD ) and has a strong background in protein biochemistry, protein expression and purification from a large variety of systems (experience with the yeast expression system would be a advantageous). In addition, the applicant should have a strong theoretical background in structural biology methods and particularly in electron microscopy analysis.

The successful applicants will benefit from the strong expertise of the lab in NMR spectroscopy, membrane protein biochemistry and LCP crystallography as well as from the rich and diverse scientific environment in Montpellier with state-of-the-art equipment from technological facilities in structural biology and pharmacology.
