The Advanced Processing Technology Research Centre (APT) directs on state-of-the-art research activities in the fields of Production Technology, Product Design & Sustainability, Micro and Nano Systems Technology, Advanced
Materials Engineering and Bio Systems. APT invited applications from eligible candidates for filling up the Postdoc position in Laser Machining to Lead all activities related to the specification, mechanical design, system / optics design, software control development, and upgrade of a 4-axis laser machining platform.
About the position: Selected candidates will Support research partners in nano-structuring surfaces for a range of applications such as cavitation mitigation in pump impellors and reduction in bio-fouling in coated membranes.

Duration: 4 years
Educational qualifications: Interested and eligible candidates must have PhD in Mechanical Engineering or Physics or related discipline with a proven track record related to laser machining or laser physics and practical laboratory experience in designing and building experimental research platforms / instrumentation. Candidates with advanced nano-structuring techniques, advanced metrology and microscopy methods, Solidworks CAD and Experience with LabVIEW control software will be preferred.
