The sensor laboratory, Department of Bioscience at the Aarhus University’s Centre for Water Technology (WATEC) is seeking applicants for a 3-year postdoc in optical sensor development. The work will be in a research project funded by the Independent Research Fund Denmark aiming at developing advanced optical ammonia sensors for water quality monitoring in aquaculture and/or water treatment. The position is available from 1st November 2019 or as soon as possible thereafter.
Requirements:
- Applicants should hold a PhD in Chemistry, Environmental science or alike.
- Candidate must have a strong background in optical chemo- or bio-sensor development.
- Candidate must demonstrate experience in developing stand-alone sensor systems including their analytical evaluation; solid chemical background, experience in data analysis and programming will be highly appreciated.
- Applicant is expected to have experience in publishing scientific results in leading journals within the fields of chemistry or environmental science.
- Applicant must be able to work well within interdisciplinary teams and has a high level of self-motivation.
- Previous teaching experience will be appreciated, but is not necessary.
- Applicant must possess fluent in English (both in written and spoken) language.
