Postdoc position: Laser speckle physicist for biomedical applications 804 views

The Institute of Photonic Sciences (ICFO) is inviting applications for a highly motivated post-doctoral fellow to work in a multi-disciplinary project working with physicists, engineers and medical doctors in Medical Optics research group led by Prof. Turgut Durduran.

About the project:
  • This project is part of international consortia to develop and deploy new novel diffuse optical methods based on laser speckle statistics for the measurement of blood flow in tissues.
  • The work will be conducted in a multi-disciplinary environment in collaboration with engineers, physicists and clinicians.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must hold an internationally recognized PhD equivalent degree (or evidence of its completion in the near future) in a relevant field.
  • Demonstrated expertise in laser speckle physics from both a theoretical and experimental viewpoint is sought.
  • Previous experience with diffuse optics for medicine including instrumentation as well as theoretical background is a plus.
  • A strong publication record and the contact information of three referees is needed.
  • No restrictions related to disabilities, citizenship or gender apply to ICFO positions.

Duration: 01 year with the possibility for subsequent annual extensions up to four years, with full-time dedication
