Postdoc position on cellular fate at University of Basel: Basel is a city university (oldest university in Switzerland) with international flair (bordering France and Germany). The Biozentrum of the University of Basel is one of the leading life sciences institutes in the world, invited application from eligible highly motivated candidates (preferably with background computer science, electrical engineering, physics, numerical analysis) for filling up the postdoc position available in the group of Prof. Zavolan at the Biozentrum, University of Basel to uncover the regulation and functional relevance of RNA processing in determining cellular fate.

About position: Presently available technologies enable the determination of entire transcriptomes up the resolution of single cells. Selected candidates will on RNA processing, particularly through alternative polyadenylation to improve the identification of cell types, and from computational models applied to these data we aim to show the regulators driving isoform expression in individual cells.

Position: Postdoc position

Educational qualifications: Interested candidates must have strong knowledge in molecular biology and a strong quantitative background in computational biology, computer science, applied mathematics or physics with  experience in software development for life sciences and be familiar with high-throughput biological data analysis.
