The Max Planck Institute of Biophysics invite applications for a Postdoc (m/f/d) single-particle cryo-EM of redox proteins. The position is available in the group of Dr. Bonnie Murphy. The group primarily uses single-particle cryo electron microscopy to elucidate the structure and mechanism of metalloproteins, especially redox proteins, of relevance to bioenergetics in all domains of life.
The position is available from January 1st, 2020 or later for two years with possible extension.
Requirements:
- Candidates will have experience in protein biochemistry, with extensive experience in purification of membrane proteins being a strong asset.
- Experience in protein crystallography or electron microscopy is beneficial, but training in single-particle cryo-EM can be provided in our world-class facility.
- Applications from candidates with international experience are especially welcome, and a willingness to apply for independent fellowships will be considered an asset.
- The working language at the institute is English.
Applications:
Application to be sent in a single pdf file via email to: bonnie.murphy@biophys.mpg.de including:
- Motivation letter (one-page)
- CV
- Names of two referees
