Postdoctoral Scholar – Quantitative Genetics And Genomics – Department Of Plant And Microbial Biology
The Department of Plant and Microbial Biology at the University of California, Berkeley is looking applicants for a postdoc scholar position in evolutionary biology, quantitative genetics, and genomics in the lab of Rachel Brem.
Research Areas:
- Direct genetic dissection of trait variation between long-diverged species.
- Launching a project focused on metazoan animal species.
- The fellow will join a project to map the genetic basis of variation in age-associated behaviors in the Caenorhabditis genus.
Required Qualifications
- Applicants with expertise and/or interest in genomics and statistical genetics to participate in this exciting project.
- Prior experience in the study of worms is not required.
- Candidates must have completed all degree requirements except the dissertation or be enrolled in an accredited PhD or equivalent degree program in genetics, genomics, or related field at the time of application.
- Candidates must have a PhD or equivalent degree in genetics, genomics or related field by appointment start date.
APPOINTMENT:
- The anticipated start date for this appointment is January, 2018.
- The initial appointment is for 12 months, with renewal based on performance and funding.
- This is a full-time appointment.
SALARY AND BENEFITS: $48,216 to $58,560. Generous benefits are included
