IISER Pune Postdoctoral Research Associate

Applications are called for Postdoctoral Research Associate (PRAs) positions at Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Pune, India. These positions are open for applicants with 0-5 years of experience after submission of their PhD thesis. Applicants should provide proof of having carried out high quality research. Appointments will be made for two years at a time with a maximum term of three years.

Stipend: A monthly stipend of 40,000 INR (30,000 INR for those who have submitted their PhD thesis and have not been awarded a PhD yet), 30% HRA (or housing provided by institute) and a contingency grant of 1,00,000 INR per year that can be used for stationary, books, national/international travel, computers, etc.

PRAs can either work independently or may be associated with a group depending upon their research and infrastructural support/supervision requirements.   • A covering letter that states the discipline (Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics or Physics) you would like to be considered in. A list of up to three faculty members at IISER Pune with whom you would like to be allied. You must contact the faculty(s) of interest prior to application.
  • A detailed academic CV including a complete list of publications.
  • A statement of research proposal: Applicant should submit a short research proposal maximum of 2 pages including the origin and significance of problem, objectives and research methodology (excluding bibliography and figures).

Also applicants should arrange for at least three letters of recommendation to be sent to email address mentioned above.

Deadline: The deadlines are January 1 and August 1.

Short listed candidates would be interviewed, either in person or by video link, before the final decision is made.
