University of Bergen, Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, Department of Biomedicine, invites applications for a full-time temporary position as a postdoctoral fellow in Biophysics of Cell Motility. The position is available in the group of Professor Inari Kursula for a period of two (2) years.
Starting date: 1 June 2017 or as soon as possible

Qualifications:
- Applicant must possess a PhD degree in biophysics, biochemistry, or a related discipline, or have submitted their PhD dissertation for evaluation within the closing date of the application (condition for appointment that the dissertation is approved).
- Applicant must have a track record of high-quality scientific publishing.
- Applicant must have some experience in biophysical characterization of proteins and have practical experience in at least two of the following: fluorescence (in particular TIRF/STED), electron, or atomic force microscopy.
- Applicants having hands-on experience in the production of recombinant proteins/protein complexes for structural biology applications would have an advantage.
- Applicant must demonstrate some experience in structural biology methods, in particular X-ray crystallography, SAXS, and/or cryo-EM is an advantage.
- Applicant must be proficient in spoken and written English.
